
For Yogis-How to eat a Sattvic diet?
I have recently made a 360 in my life through yoga. A litle history on me: I was anorexic and well mentally hurting and physically. Yoga is helping me to heal and I love it- and I am recovering and deepening my practice. M next step is to have a proper diet that feeds me physically, mentally and spiritually. I would appreciate any advice on the Sattvic diet and yoga practice.
1)Milk, yogurt, buttermilk
2)Fresh fruit and juices ( and lots of water)
Three-four glasses in the morning immediately after brushing teeth, thereafter 2-3 glasses 2 hours after any meal. Do not take any water along with meals.
3)All vegetables, preferably cooked. But minimum (or no) garlic.
4)Moderate spice in food, but black pepper good
5)No food that contains germ of life (ie egg)
6)No food that has been the flesh of any creature
7)No alcoholic beverages
8)Food that is cooked fresh and eaten hot, not cold or kept for more than 3 hours (ideally, but might not be very practical)
9)Food that is neither too oily, nor too dry.
