What are my chances of getting into these reach schools?
State of residency: IA
Unweighted GPA: 3.73
ACT: 31
Non-first generation
Public High School, well ranked in the state.
Classes: Honors and a few APs
got a 4 on the AP European History exam. I expect to get 4s on the three I will be taking in May.
ECs: Newspaper staff, Academic Decathlon, 140 volunteer hours, Band, I am taking lessons to read and write in Farsi, Ecuador Biology Trip 2009, played piano, Take Kwon Do, and I work for my parents (unpaid)
I know these aren’t very stacked, and they’re kinda generic, but I really do have passion in them. But since I haven’t gotten many awards or anything, I’m not sure if I can show my passion.
I can speak two languages fluently! And Spanish, too, kinda….
So…that’s kinda my resume for now (still a junior).
Reach Schools:
UCLA
Berkeley
Stanford
U Chicago
Northwestern
NYU
If you are in the top ten percent of your class, you have excellent chances at NYU and a reasonable chance at Northwestern. The others are so difficult for admission that without an unweighted GPA of at least 3.9, your chances are very slim.
